Rhapsody of Realities 23 February 2021 Devotional – Living for His Glory

Published

Rhapsody of Realities 23 February 2021 Devotional Guide By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

TOPIC: Living for His Glory

Scripture: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again (2 Corinthians 5:15).

Rhapsody of Realities 23rd February 2021 Devotional Message:

In these last days, there’s only one thing that matters: living for the Lord; living for His glory; living a life of purpose. Jesus showed us the example to follow in this regard. In John 17:4, He said, “I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.”

That ought to be your thinking as well; glorifying the Father should be your passion and purpose for living. How do you glorify the Father? It’s by doing His will; doing that which He commits to you and finishing the work. Have you discovered His purpose for your life? Are you about His work?

The purpose of the Father is the salvation of the whole world. That’s the reason He sent Jesus. And your purpose in life is connected to this. No matter what you do in life, if you’re not reaching the lost and winning souls, you’re living an empty life. The Bible says God is unwilling that any should perish but that all men should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). You bring Him glory in making this happen.

He seeks to beautify the lives of those around you, and lead them into righteousnes through you; that’s living a purposeful life. It doesn’t matter how fruitful or effective you might have been in other areas, you must seek to excel in soul winning, in taking the Gospel to the lost, hopeless, hurting and downtrodden, not just in your world, but also in the regions beyond.

A life well lived, a successful life that pleases God, is one that achieves those things God destined you to do. Therefore, bring Him glory by being effectual in leading men to righteousness.

CONFESSION
Dear Father, I thank you for giving me the opportunity and ability to influence those in my world with the Gospel. I go forth today, in the fullness of the blessings of Christ, impacting my world with your grace and righteousness, turning men from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

MFM Devotional 26th February 2021 – Remember Lot’s Wife

Published

on

MFM Devotional 26th February 2021 (Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional Guide By Dr D.K Olukoya

TOPIC: Remember Lot’s Wife

Fire Scripture
Luke 17:28-32

Memory verse
Luke 17:32 – “Remember Lot’s wife.”

MFM Devotional 26th February 2021 Outline

The greatest obstacle to spiritual growth is the flesh. When you keep investing in the flesh, what you reap is death (Romans 8:6-7). Lot’s wife is a perfect example of a woman who invested much in the flesh and ended up being destroyed. Our Lord Jesus, talking about His second coming in the text above, compared it to the events that happened when Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed and admonished you and me to remember Lot’s wife.

What is it about Lot’s wife that you are to remember? She was married to a righteous man and into a godly family. Heaven provided her the grace and great opportunities to escape the judgement and destruction coming against her generation. However, she misused the grace and lost the opportunity to be saved because she loved the world and the things that are in the world. Though she was physically moving out of Sodom and Gomorrah as instructed, her heart was still knitted to her idols and gods (treasures, jewelry, gold and silver). As a result, against God’s command, she looked back and turned to a pillar of salt!

Today, you and I are saved and have the grace to escape the wrath to come and spend eternity in heaven. Are you not misusing the grace of God the way Mrs Lot did? Are you not married to career, business, spouse and wealth, so much that you forsake worship and service that you owe God? Are you not “looking back” like Lot’s wife? If you are guilty of all these, you need to repent.

Beloved, Lot’s wife is a type of believers today. Sodom and Gomorrah represent this world that God will judge with fire in the end. The instruction to flee Sodom and Gomorrah and not look back is the gospel of salvation from eternal damnation that you hear and read today.

Loving the world and the things that are in it, including idols like Mammon and so on, will make the word of God of little or no effect in your life. Like Lot’s wife, many have backslidden. I pray that backsliding will not be your portion, in Jesus’ name. I advise you to purge your heart of all idols, worldliness and carnality. Remember Lots wife. Repent and turn to God with a true heart so that you are not caught unaware.

Motivational Quote
A carnal Christian and an unbeliever will end up in the same destination.

Prophetic Word
You will not end up in destruction, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN
Are you ready

1. There’s a great day coming, A great day coming,
There’s a great day coming by and by;
When the saints and the sinners shall be parted right and left,
Are you ready for that day to come?

Chorus
Are you ready?
Are you ready?
Are you ready for the judgement day?
Are you ready?
Are you ready for that judgement day?

2. There’s a bright day coming, A bright day coming,
There’s a bright day coming by and by;
But it’s brightness shall only come to them that love the Lord,
Are you ready for that day to come?

Open Heaven Friday 26th February 2021 – Danger of Alcohol (2)

Open Heaven Friday 26th February 2021 Daily Devotional Guide By Pastor E.A Adeboye

TOPIC: Danger of Alcohol (2)

MEMORISE:
“Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.” – (Proverbs 31:6)

READ: Proverbs 31:4-6 (KJV)
4. It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink;

5. Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

6. Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

Open Heaven Friday 26th February 2021 Devotional Guide By Pastor E.A Adeboye:

Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging; and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise. – Proverbs 20:1

The Bible says it is only fools who take alcohol. Alcohol makes a fool of anyone who consumes it, so much that the drunkard standing on solid ground can begin to think he is sleeping in the middle of the sea. He would think he is lying on a bed. Imagine such mockery.

“Oh, I just want to take a little; I can’t get drunk: I know how to control myself.” No one starts drinking with the intention of misbehaving and acting foolish. It starts with looking at the drink and desiring it. The moment you start desiring it, you are already treading close to the trap of the devil and you will soon fall if you don’t take your eyes and mind off it. If you know that you struggle with taking alcohol, why would you go for a meeting in a bar? You are only tempting yourself. If you want to stop drinking, then you have to overcome the fear of losing the friends who drink with you.

When I met Christ and stopped drinking, I lost friends because whenever they visited me, I offered them soft drinks instead of the assorted alcoholic beverages we used to drink. I lost friends, but God replaced them with many brothers and sisters in Him.

Proverbs 31:4 says:
It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

In other words, the one who drinks cannot make clear decisions. If a person cannot make good decisions, how then would such a person excel in life? How would he or she become great and fulfil destiny? If you want to achieve greatness in life and have all your dreams come true, you have to let go of alcohol.

How do you stop taking alcohol? Stop looking at it. Don’t look at the drink or it’s container at all. Don’t watch the adverts, don’t spend time around people who drink or talk about alcohol.

Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright. At the last it biteth like serpent, and stingeth like an adder. – (Proverbs 23:31-32)

Abstain from alcohol, it ruins destinies.

KEY POINT:
Alcohol has nothing else to offer the drinker but evil. Flee from it.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Exodus 14-16

HYMNAL:
HYMN 22 – STAND UP! STAND UP FOR JESUS

1. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
Ye soldiers of the Cross!
Lift high His royal banner;
It must not suffer loss.
From vict’ry unto vict’ry
His army shall He lead,
Till every foe is vanquished,
And Christ is Lord indeed.

2. Stand up! stand up for Jesus,
The trumpet call obey;
Forth to the mighty conflict,
In this His glorious day;
Ye that are men now serve Him
Against unnumbered foes;
Let courage rise with danger,
And strength to strength oppose.

3. Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
Stand in His strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own:
Put on the gospel armour,
And watching unto prayer;
Where duty calls, or danger,
Be never wanting there.

4. Stand up! stand up for Jesus!
The strife will not be long;
This day the noise of battle,
The next the victor’s song;
To him that overcometh,
A crown of life shall be;
He with the King of glory
Shall reign eternally.

Rhapsody of Realities 24th February 2021 – See the Word in Pictures

Published

on

Rhapsody of Realities 24th February 2021 Devotional Guide By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

TOPIC: See the Word in Pictures

Scripture: While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal (2 Corinthians 4:18).

Rhapsody of Realities 24th February 2021 Devotional Message:

When you study the Scriptures, learn to do so with pictures; see with the eyes of your spirit; believe and act accordingly. It’s the blessings that your spirit takes a hold of that’ll manifest in your life. Therefore, as you listen to, or study the Word, visualize your victory, prosperity, health, peace, progress and success from within, and affirm accordingly.

Before the physical manifestation of the glory and victories that you desire in life, you must see them first within you. Once you can see it from within, then it’s yours. You can never have it on the outside if you didn’t first have it within. That’s where some have missed it. They want to see first with their physical eyes before calling it real; that’s not faith. Faith is calling real that which the physical senses can’t perceive.

For example, God said to Abraham, “Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee…” (Genesis 17:5-6). Abraham first had to visualise himself as the father of many nations. At the time God spoke to him, he was ninety-nine years old, and Sarah his wife, was equally old and barren. Nevertheless, the Bible says, “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God” (Romans 4:20). In Genesis 15:5, the Lord had said to him, “…Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and … So shall thy seed be.” Abraham believed. He saw the picture of his uncountable descendants—numerous as the stars—from within.

What is it that you desire in your life today? Is it a child? See it inside first. Is it the growth and expansion of your church, a new job or business? Create the picture and take possession in the spirit, and with your spirit, first, because it’s already real in the spirit-realm. Hallelujah!

CONFESSION
Dear Father, thank you for the gift to comprehend the wonderful blessings you’ve prepared for me to enjoy in Christ. I visualize my victory, prosperity, health, peace, progress and success in your Word by the power of the Holy Spirit, and take possession of these realities through my faith proclamations. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places, and indeed, I have a goodly heritage. Hallelujah!
