MFM Mountain Top Life Devotional 7th April 2021 Message by Dr. D.K Olukoya
TOPIC: Importunity in Prayer(MFM Devotional 7th April 2021)
Luke 11: 5 – 8
Luke 11:8 – “I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth”.
What an amazing Bible verse! I love that word “IMPORTUNITY”. It means “persistent begging.” Hardly does any Christian believer today obey this Scripture. I believe it is largely because our preachers these days need to teach and practise prayer more.
We hear plenty of preachers begging man for money, but they ought to be begging God on behalf of man instead. When the Bible teaches praying “importunately” (Luke 11:5-8), it is in reality teaching about “sacrificial praying.” The simplest definition of importunity is persistent and urgent asking.
Importune prayer then is persistent and urgent; it is prayer that pleads with God and asks Him repeatedly for the things we need. It is the prayer that is drawn by God and that follows after Him. It is the prayer that is aroused and energised by the Holy Spirit. It moves our souls toward God and presses our desires upon Him repeatedly with urgency and perseverance, but also with patience and waiting until our prayers are heard and answered.
Jesus taught on the importance of importunity (persistence) in prayer. He accompanied His instruction with an illustrative parable. In the first instance, He told the parable of the friend at midnight (Luke 11:5-8). In the second, He told the parable of the widow and the unjust judge (Luke 18:2-6). In both instances, the petitioner persisted until the petitioned showed himself willing to grant the petitioner’s plea. Persistence is imperative on the front-end of prayer.
It is to be practiced until God reveals to us His willingness to grant the petition for which He has burdened us to pray. Once His will is revealed, we can pray in faith for God’s will to be done and rest assured that our prayer is answered. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.
And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. In James 5:17-18, we see that Elijah was a man of prayer, so, he persisted until the heaven gave rain. This isn’t something you do once and go to sleep. Notice the word, “persisted”; you are to continue in prayer in line with God’s word.
It’s your responsibility to ensure that whatever changes you seek in your life as an individual is effected through importunity in prayers. Never think that your prayer isn’t making any difference; you make great impact when you pray.
Therefore, continue in prayer. Even when you don’t “feel” like praying, pray! When you do this consistently, it will become a part of you, resulting in great changes in your life to the glory of Christ
Importunity in prayer is the vehicle of great open doors
The hand of God that is responsible for unstoppable speed is released upon you now, in the name of Jesus.

MFM Mountain Top Life Devotional 17th April 2021 – The Power of Patience
MFM Mountain Top Life Devotional 17th April 2021 Saturday Message By Pastor D.k Olukoya
TOPIC: The Power of Patience
Ecclesiastes 7:8 – “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.”
MFM Mountain Top Life Devotional 17th April 2021 Outline
The Bible describes patience as one of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). Patience is one of the attributes of God. God is longsuffering. He is patient and tolerant in His dealing with us.
God expects us to be patient in everything we do. Apostle Paul warns the people of Thessalonia not to be rash and unruly but to be patient with all men (1 Thessalonians 5:14). Being rash and erratic is a sign that we are being controlled by the flesh (the old man) and the Holy Spirit is not in us.
One of the signs of a Holy Spirit-controlled life is patience and calmness even in the face of adversity and tribulations. Jesus demonstrated this attitude to us in several ways. When He was in the ship and there was a great storm and His disciples began to panic, he was not ruffled. He rebuked the storm calmly (Mark 4:35-41).
Similarly, when He was being led to the cross for crucifixion, he was calm and went through the humiliation and mockery with love and patience. Patience is a sign that we have faith and hope in God when we are faced with troubles (Hebrews 6:12). Abraham was patient with God and through that he inherited His promises. Joseph went through tribulations in prison, but he overcame through patience and perseverance.
One of the qualities of true ambassadors of Christ is patience (1Timothy 3:3). Anyone desiring the office of a bishop must be patient. There is no love without patience. Charity and patience are two of a kind. Ecclesiastes 7:8 tells us that pride is the enemy of patience. One of the reasons why we fail to exercise patience is pride.
Humility will subject itself to patience and tolerance. Patience is not a sign of fear or cowardice. It is a sign of strength and trust in God. This was demonstrated by Job who endured tribulation in patience (James 5:11). Also, according to James 1:4, we are made perfect in patience.
As we go through trials and troubles and we overcome through endurance and patience, we become a vessel unto honour in the hand of God (2 Peter 1:6).
Patience is the hallmark of a true believer
You shall recover every good thing that impatience has destroyed in your life, in the name of Jesus.
- There shall be showers of blessing:
This is the promise of love;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
Sent from the Savior above.
Chorus: Showers of blessing,
Showers of blessing we need;
Mercy-drops round us are falling,
But for the showers we plead.
2. There shall be showers of blessing—
Precious reviving again;
Over the hills and the valleys,
Sound of abundance of rain.
3. There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honor Thy Word.
4. There shall be showers of blessing;
O that today they might fall,
Now as to God we’re confessing,
Now as on Jesus we call!
5. There shall be showers of blessing,
If we but trust and obey;
There shall be seasons refreshing,
If we let God have His way.

Open Heaven 17th April 2021 Saturday Devotional – Substitution
Open Heaven 17th April 2021 Saturday Devotional Guide By Pastor E.A Adeboye
TOPIC: Substitution(Open Heaven 17th April 2021 )
“Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.” – (Revelation 2:5)
READ: Esther 2:1-4 (KJV)
1. After these things, when the wrath of king Ahasuerus was appeased, he remembered Vashti, and what she had done, and what was decreed against her.
2. Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, Let there be fair young virgins sought for the king;
3. And let the king appoint officers in all the provinces of his kingdom, that they may gather together all the fair young virgins unto Shushan the palace, to the house of the women, unto the custody of Hege the king’s chamberlain, keeper of the women; and let their things for purification be given them;
4. And let the maiden which pleaseth the king be queen instead of Vashti. And the thing pleased the king; and he did so.
MESSAGE: (Open Heaven 17th April 2021 Daily Devotional)
From today’s Scripture reading, we can conclude that substitution can be positive or negative. To Vashti, it was negative, however to Esther, it was positive. The replacement that is coming your way shall be positive in Jesus’ name. Esther 2:17 says:
And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.
Anyone who is able to install a king would also have the power to unseat him. Romans 13:1 says it is God who sets kings on thrones. This is why anyone in a position of authority must be very careful not to offend the One who placed him or her there.
Nebuchadnezzar is a classic example of someone who did not remember that the Almighty rules the affairs of men. He did not realise his folly until he was turned to a beast.
You must, endeavour to keep anything God has given you, to avoid being replaced. As believers, the story in Esther 2:1-17 should teach us some lessons. We must watch so that nobody would take our crown (Revelation 3:11). It is a pity that many so-called children of God are no longer holding fast their position of adoption, rather they are selling their birthright like Esau, for food.
Vashti momentarily forgot that she was a queen by Virtue of the fact that her husband was the king. She flouted the king’s order and someone else took her crown. To avoid being replaced, we must be careful to obey every instruction given to us by our Saviour, King and Husband – Jesus Christ, as we see in John 15:16-17.
The Scripture referenced above further enjoins us to bear fruits. When we do so, we honour and complement Jesus’ work of salvation. However, when we refuse to bear fruit, we make His death a waste. Refusal to bear fruits could lead to one’s substitution. May you never experience negative substitution Jesus’s name.
Father, whatever will make me lose my portion in Christ, don’t let me do it, in the mighty name of Jesus.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
HYMN 18 – PASS ME NOT, O GENTLE SAVIOUR
1. Pass me not, O gentle Saviour,
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
Hear my humble cry;
While on others Thou art calling,
Do not pass me by.
2. Let me, at Thy throne of mercy
Find a sweet relief;
Kneeling there in deep contrition,
Help my unbelief.
3. Trusting only in Thy merit,
Would I seek Thy face;
Heal my wounded, broken spirit,
Save me by Thy grace.
4. Thou, the spring of all my comfort,
More than life to me,
Whom have I on earth beside Thee?
Whom in heaven but Thee?

Rhapsody of Realities 17th April 2021 – A Kingdom Principle
Rhapsody of Realities 17th April 2021, Devotional Guide By Pastor Chris Oyakhilome
TOPIC: A Kingdom Principle (Rhapsody of Realities 17th April 2021)
Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows (Galatians 6:7 NIV).
The Kingdom of God is a real functional kingdom, with principles. For example, giving and receiving is an important kingdom principle. Genesis 8:22 AMPC tells us, “While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.” In John 12:24, the Lord said, “Listen carefully: Unless a grain of wheat is buried in the ground, dead to the world, it is never any more than a grain of wheat. But if it is buried, it sprouts and reproduces itself many times over” (MSG).
Except you sow your seed, you have no reason to expect a harvest. The kingdom principle of seed time and harvest positions you for the prosperous life that God has ordained for you; it’s a principle that works. It doesn’t matter how beautiful a seed is in your hand or what else you do with it; until you sow it, it’ll produce no harvest. That’s the kingdom truth! The seed doesn’t reckon who’s holding it—whether it’s a good man, or wicked fellow—once the seed gets into the right environment, it’ll produce the necessary results.
This kingdom principle applies to everything about life. The harvest a farmer gets is a direct result of the seeds he plants. Just as it is with the farmer, so it is with you. Your seed could come in different forms; it could be your time, talent, or any other gift God has blessed you with for a glorious life. How great and glorious your life will be is hinged on what you do with your seed.
For example, this material you’re reading right now, “Rhapsody of Realities,” is an indispensable tool for mass evangelism. You can be a part of its spread, penetration and distribution around the world in these end times. Commit to ensuring the Gospel reaches the unreached, and gets even to the remotest villages. Give your best into it.
Remember, the more you give, the more the Lord blesses you, and the greater you become. Operate this principle and see your life move from glory to glory. The Lord will multiply your seeds sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness. He’ll overwhelm you with grace for ever-increasing fruitfulness and superabundance.
CONFESSION(Rhapsody of Realities 17th April 2021)
Dear Father, I rejoice because you’re able to multiply all grace towards me so that always and under all circumstances, I’m self-sufficient and in superabundance. As I give of my time, talent and finances into the Gospel, I’m confident of a multiplied harvest of blessings in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
