MFM Mountain Top Life Devotional 13 March 2021 Saturday Message By Dr. D.K Olukoya

TOPIC: Remove the Stumbling Block (2)

Fire Scripture
Mal. 2:7-8

Memory verse
Romans 14:13 – “Let us therefore judge not one another anymore: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.”

MFM Mountain Top Life Devotional 13th March 2021 Outline
What are stumbling blocks? You need to know what constitutes stumbling blocks in the light of the Scriptures. This will also enable you to know how to remove them and to avoid becoming one.

First, the Bible says that leaders that are unfaithful become stumbling blocks. In Malachi 2:7-8, the Bible reveals that the priesthood of Israel failed to teach the truth to honour God. They were offering impure sacrifices in disobedience to the law God had given them and were leading the people astray.

Today, teachers and preachers of God’s word that spread false teachings as well as wrong doctrines and make believers to stumble belong to this category. Their message contradict the timeless truth of the Bible (don’t pay tithe and first fruit, there is nothing like demons and deliverance, etc.). Beware of them and pray to the Lord to change them.

The second category of people the Bible describes as stumbling blocks are hypocrites in the church. Jesus Christ addressed them in Mt. 23:13, “But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.” The truth is that the Lord commanded us to win souls and populate the Kingdom of God.

Those that call themselves Christians and identify with the church but are not ready to go to heaven and take others with them are stumbling blocks. Jesus pronounced woe on them to express His disaffection towards them. If you belong to this category, you must repent today.

Beloved, we all need to watch against becoming stumbling block. Romans 14:13 says, “Let us therefore judge not one another anymore: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.” We are to love and help one another and not be a hindrance or cause of falling or going back to others. The Bible affirms that love is the effective prevention for not becoming a stumbling block to others.

1 John 2:10 says, “He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.” God bless you immensely as you heed His word, in Jesus’ name.

Motivational Quote
Do not confuse motion and progress. A rocking horse keeps moving but does not make any progress.

Prophetic Word
From today, receive the grace to be a successful Kingdom builder and not a stumbling block, in the name of Jesus.

HYMN
I must tell Jesus

1. I must tell Jesus all of my trials,
I cannot bear these burdens alone;
In my distress He kindly will help me,
He ever loves and cares for His own.

Chorus
I must tell Jesus!
I must tell Jesus!
I cannot bear my burdens alone;
I must tell Jesus!
I must tell Jesus!
Jesus can help me, Jesus alone.

2. I must tell Jesus all of my troubles,
He is a kind, compassionate friend;
If I but ask Him, He will deliver,
Make of my troubles quickly an end.
3. O how the world to evil allures me!
O how my heart is tempted to sin!
I must tell Jesus, and He will help me
Over the world the vict’ry to win.

UK based urban gospel artist, producer and songwriter Naffymar, is out with a spanking new record titled “Highly Exalted”.
Coming three months after the release of her chart breaking House of God EP with songs that have now become anthems for Christian celebrations, the Music Graduate shows her versatility in this worship ballad.

With the synergy of South African based producer Cliff M and Nigeria’s mix and master engineer Osadebey, Naffymar seems to have cracked the code to leave listeners in total surrender in worship to God.

Catholic Daily Mass Reading Wednesday 7th April 2021 Online

Daily Reading for Wednesday April 7, 2021
Reading 1, Acts 3:1-10
Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 105:1-2, 3-4, 6-7, 8-9
Gospel, Luke 24:13-35

Reading 1, Acts 3:1-10

1 Once, when Peter and John were going up to the Temple for the prayers at the ninth hour,

2 it happened that there was a man being carried along. He was a cripple from birth; and they used to put him down every day near the Temple entrance called the Beautiful Gate so that he could beg from the people going in.

3 When this man saw Peter and John on their way into the Temple he begged from them.

4 Peter, and John too, looked straight at him and said, ‘Look at us.’

5 He turned to them expectantly, hoping to get something from them,

6 but Peter said, ‘I have neither silver nor gold, but I will give you what I have: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, walk!’

7 Then he took him by the right hand and helped him to stand up. Instantly his feet and ankles became firm

8 he jumped up, stood, and began to walk, and he went with them into the Temple, walking and jumping and praising God.

9 Everyone could see him walking and praising God,

10 and they recognised him as the man who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple. They were all astonished and perplexed at what had happened to him.

Catholic Daily Mass Reading Wednesday 7th April 2021 Online

Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 105:1-2, 3-4, 6-7, 8-9
1 Alleluia! Give thanks to Yahweh, call on his name, proclaim his deeds to the peoples!

2 Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!

3 Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!

4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!

6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!

7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.

8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,

9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.

Gospel, Luke 24:13-35
13 Now that very same day, two of them were on their way to a village called Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem,

14 and they were talking together about all that had happened.

15 And it happened that as they were talking together and discussing it, Jesus himself came up and walked by their side;

16 but their eyes were prevented from recognising him.

17 He said to them, ‘What are all these things that you are discussing as you walk along?’ They stopped, their faces downcast.

18 Then one of them, called Cleopas, answered him, ‘You must be the only person staying in Jerusalem who does not know the things that have been happening there these last few days.’

19 He asked, ‘What things?’ They answered, ‘All about Jesus of Nazareth, who showed himself a prophet powerful in action and speech before God and the whole people;

20 and how our chief priests and our leaders handed him over to be sentenced to death, and had him crucified.

21 Our own hope had been that he would be the one to set Israel free. And this is not all: two whole days have now gone by since it all happened;

22 and some women from our group have astounded us: they went to the tomb in the early morning,

23 and when they could not find the body, they came back to tell us they had seen a vision of angels who declared he was alive.

24 Some of our friends went to the tomb and found everything exactly as the women had reported, but of him they saw nothing.’

25 Then he said to them, ‘You foolish men! So slow to believe all that the prophets have said!

26 Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer before entering into his glory?’

27 Then, starting with Moses and going through all the prophets, he explained to them the passages throughout the scriptures that were about himself.

28 When they drew near to the village to which they were going, he made as if to go on;

29 but they pressed him to stay with them saying, ‘It is nearly evening, and the day is almost over.’ So he went in to stay with them.

30 Now while he was with them at table, he took the bread and said the blessing; then he broke it and handed it to them.

31 And their eyes were opened and they recognised him; but he had vanished from their sight.

32 Then they said to each other, ‘Did not our hearts burn within us as he talked to us on the road and explained the scriptures to us?’

33 They set out that instant and returned to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven assembled together with their companions,

34 who said to them, ‘The Lord has indeed risen and has appeared to Simon.’

35 Then they told their story of what had happened on the road and how they had recognised him at the breaking of bread.
