MFM Devotional 19th February 2021 (Mountain Top Life Daily Devotional By Dr. D.K Olukoya)

TOPIC: Why Are You Lonely?

Fire Scripture

Ps 25: 16-18

Memory verse

Isa. 41:10 – “Fear thou not; I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

MFM Daily Devotional 19th February 2021 Outline

The world today is infested with, “I”, “me”, “my” and “mine”. This is a far cry from the desire of God for His children. We are first and foremost expected to be in intimacy with God, then with fellow humans. Loneliness could occur as a result of many reasons, hidden or open. These include the feeling of being unloved, unwanted or abandoned. It starts with funny thoughts, strange imaginations and untrue conclusions about persons, situations and relationships.

It degenerates into harboring fear, insecurity, suspicion, hurts, wounds, pains, keeping records of offenses, misconceptions, doubts and more. It could also be as a result of personal issues arising from disappointment, discouragement, betrayal, and all such. Whatever the cause, loneliness is a kingdom of self! God is shut out and fellow men too. The victim sees and judges issue from his own faulty perspective. He doesn’t see what is good in others hence he lives and operates alone.

This negative attitude becomes an easy access for the enemy. The devil creeps in to be the cheerleader and preacher to this person. He takes advantage of this situation to build his stronghold in his mind and offers ungodly counsel, thereby compounding his problems. He ends up stealing the peace and joy of such his victims.

Are you lonely? Do you often feel alone even when in a crowd? Do you feel unnoticed, uncomfortable and unwanted in the midst of friends? Do you have the tendency of easily withdrawing whenever there is an issue to be resolved? Do you dislike confrontation? Are you comfortable keeping malice? Do you feel offended whenever you’re not on the winning side? God respects healthy and godly quietness not an ominous one!

Loneliness breaks and destroys the network of people around you and can take you deeper than you ever bargain. The enemy enjoys the person who engages in solitude without the Holy Spirit. We should always remember the counsel of God’s word not to forsake the gathering of the saints (Heb.10: 25; Ps 133:1-3). Jesus emphatically told us that offence cannot but come (Luke 17:1a).

God promises to always be by His children; hence, with Him you can never be lonely. No matter your troubles and woes, loneliness is not the answer. I Cor. 10:13 says that God is able to deliver you from all your troubles. God sees your pains and can sort you out. Don’t be a slave to your problems!

Trust God and there shall be a way out, in Jesus’ name.

Motivational Quote

Except you are alone with God, loneliness is nothing but an emotional drain, an unconscious self-imprisonment.

Prophetic Word

I decree that every veil of darkness shielding you from divine illumination be lifted and roasted today, in the name of Jesus

Hymn

Forward! forward! ’tis the Lord’s command

1. Christ, our mighty Captain, leads against the foe;

We will never falter when He bids us go;

Tho’ His righteous purpose we may never know

Yet we’ll follow all the way.

Chorus

Forward! forward!

’tis the Lord’s command,

Forward! forward!

to the promised land;

Forward! forward!

let the chorus ring:

We are sure to win with Christ, our King!

2. Satan’s fearful onslaughts cannot make us yield,

While we trust in Christ, our Buckler and our Shield;

Pressing ever on the Spirit’s sword we wield,

And we follow all the way.

3. Let our glorious banner ever be unfurled

From its mighty stronghold evil shall be hurled;

Christ, our mighty Captain, over comes the world,

And we follow all the way

UK based urban gospel artist, producer and songwriter Naffymar, is out with a spanking new record titled “Highly Exalted”.
Coming three months after the release of her chart breaking House of God EP with songs that have now become anthems for Christian celebrations, the Music Graduate shows her versatility in this worship ballad.

With the synergy of South African based producer Cliff M and Nigeria’s mix and master engineer Osadebey, Naffymar seems to have cracked the code to leave listeners in total surrender in worship to God.

Catholic Daily Mass Reading Wednesday 7th April 2021 Online

Daily Reading for Wednesday April 7, 2021
Reading 1, Acts 3:1-10
Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 105:1-2, 3-4, 6-7, 8-9
Gospel, Luke 24:13-35

Reading 1, Acts 3:1-10

1 Once, when Peter and John were going up to the Temple for the prayers at the ninth hour,

2 it happened that there was a man being carried along. He was a cripple from birth; and they used to put him down every day near the Temple entrance called the Beautiful Gate so that he could beg from the people going in.

3 When this man saw Peter and John on their way into the Temple he begged from them.

4 Peter, and John too, looked straight at him and said, ‘Look at us.’

5 He turned to them expectantly, hoping to get something from them,

6 but Peter said, ‘I have neither silver nor gold, but I will give you what I have: in the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, walk!’

7 Then he took him by the right hand and helped him to stand up. Instantly his feet and ankles became firm

8 he jumped up, stood, and began to walk, and he went with them into the Temple, walking and jumping and praising God.

9 Everyone could see him walking and praising God,

10 and they recognised him as the man who used to sit begging at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple. They were all astonished and perplexed at what had happened to him.

Catholic Daily Mass Reading Wednesday 7th April 2021 Online

Responsorial Psalm, Psalms 105:1-2, 3-4, 6-7, 8-9
1 Alleluia! Give thanks to Yahweh, call on his name, proclaim his deeds to the peoples!

2 Sing to him, make music for him, recount all his wonders!

3 Glory in his holy name, let the hearts that seek Yahweh rejoice!

4 Seek Yahweh and his strength, tirelessly seek his presence!

6 Stock of Abraham, his servant, children of Jacob whom he chose!

7 He is Yahweh our God, his judgements touch the whole world.

8 He remembers his covenant for ever, the promise he laid down for a thousand generations,

9 which he concluded with Abraham, the oath he swore to Isaac.

Gospel, Luke 24:13-35
13 Now that very same day, two of them were on their way to a village called Emmaus, seven miles from Jerusalem,

14 and they were talking together about all that had happened.

15 And it happened that as they were talking together and discussing it, Jesus himself came up and walked by their side;

16 but their eyes were prevented from recognising him.

17 He said to them, ‘What are all these things that you are discussing as you walk along?’ They stopped, their faces downcast.

18 Then one of them, called Cleopas, answered him, ‘You must be the only person staying in Jerusalem who does not know the things that have been happening there these last few days.’

19 He asked, ‘What things?’ They answered, ‘All about Jesus of Nazareth, who showed himself a prophet powerful in action and speech before God and the whole people;

20 and how our chief priests and our leaders handed him over to be sentenced to death, and had him crucified.

21 Our own hope had been that he would be the one to set Israel free. And this is not all: two whole days have now gone by since it all happened;

22 and some women from our group have astounded us: they went to the tomb in the early morning,

23 and when they could not find the body, they came back to tell us they had seen a vision of angels who declared he was alive.

24 Some of our friends went to the tomb and found everything exactly as the women had reported, but of him they saw nothing.’

25 Then he said to them, ‘You foolish men! So slow to believe all that the prophets have said!

26 Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer before entering into his glory?’

27 Then, starting with Moses and going through all the prophets, he explained to them the passages throughout the scriptures that were about himself.

28 When they drew near to the village to which they were going, he made as if to go on;

29 but they pressed him to stay with them saying, ‘It is nearly evening, and the day is almost over.’ So he went in to stay with them.

30 Now while he was with them at table, he took the bread and said the blessing; then he broke it and handed it to them.

31 And their eyes were opened and they recognised him; but he had vanished from their sight.

32 Then they said to each other, ‘Did not our hearts burn within us as he talked to us on the road and explained the scriptures to us?’

33 They set out that instant and returned to Jerusalem. There they found the Eleven assembled together with their companions,

34 who said to them, ‘The Lord has indeed risen and has appeared to Simon.’

35 Then they told their story of what had happened on the road and how they had recognised him at the breaking of bread.
